<aside> ❗ This process can take a few weeks to complete so applicants should ensure that they give themselves plenty of time to get this sorted.

If you did not study in the UK but have Maths and English qualifications that are equivalent to a UK Maths and/or English at level 2 or above, you can apply for a statement of comparability using **this platform** 🌐

Statement of Comparability

When you apply for a statement, the purpose of your enquiry should be for:

‘Employment i.e job application’.

<aside> 💡 Applicants must cover the cost of their statement themselves. Please also be aware that there is a chance that your statement will come back as ‘not equivalent’.

If you do not wish to apply for a statement, you can take a functional skills assessment instead.

What your statement should include

Your statement must show that you have Maths and English equivalent qualifications. We cannot accept statements for degrees or other qualifications that are not explicitly for Maths and English.

It should look like this:

If you are accepted onto the skills bootcamp programme, you will be asked to send a copy of your statement of comparability and your qualification certificates to the FAC team. This is done in preparation for your application to the full time programme (if you wish to apply for a full time apprenticeship).

What should you do if one or both of your qualifications come back as ‘not equivalent’?

You will need to book a level 2 functional skills assessment for the qualification/s that you do not have.

Help! I do not not know if my qualifications are equivalent to UK Maths and English?

You should be able to phone ENIC to check if your qualifications are equivalent before you apply. Phone: 44 (0)330 912 0030.

If ENIC cannot conform over the phone, you should decide if you want to apply for a statement or take a functional skills assessment.
